| We
believe that a stay away from home, in a wonderful place like the
English Lake District, should offer a combination of peace and quiet
with all the comforts and little luxuries that make the experience
one you will remember. The Garth is an extremely comfortable Victorian bed and breakfast, carefully restored, in Near Sawrey, one of the prettiest, unspoiled villages in the South Lakes, home to Beatrix Potter. The house sits in two acres of gardens, overlooking Grizedale and across Esthwaite to the Langdales and Coniston. Near Sawrey is within easy reach of the best of Lakeland, and yet returning to The Garth at the end of a day, you will smell the woodsmoke, see the stars and hear the sounds of sheep and night birds – a real haven and a lovely retreat. |
