The House | |||
| We
believe that The Garth lends itself to relaxing in comfort without
too much fuss and we hope that all our visitors feel that they can
use the spacious rooms as if they are guests in a friendly country
house. There is almost always a welcoming log fire in the lounge,
with books, games, jigsaws – even a piano. It’s a room
for enjoying, especially at night time. We encourage groups of family
or friends to come and make the most of the space to be together.
There are selections of walks and cycle routes, maps of the area and local interest information to help you if you need ideas when you arrive and will happily help you with suggestions. We have visited this area for over twenty years before moving up here and have a fair idea of what is on offer. |

The Gardens | |||
| The
Garth is surrounded by really lovely gardens – full of interesting
old trees and ornamental bushes with a variety of places to sit and
enjoy the tranquillity and spectacular views. We want you to enjoy
the gardens as much as the house. The bird-life here is wonderful.
You can spend your whole time here and never use your car if you want. There are plenty of good walks from the door and yet Windermere and Ambleside are close enough to be easily accessed and all the other popular attractions are within easy reach. |
